Overview

Your Base is the most important piece in your home security system. The Base requires an internet connection. You have the option to choose whether the base is connected through your Wi-Fi network or through an Ethernet cable directly connected to your router.

Setting up your base

Begin by placing your base centrally in your home if you are using W-iFi, or by placing it near your router if you are using ethernet. Ensure the base is free from metal objects or objects that generate heat such as a heater, cable or set top box, or internet router.

Once you have placed the base,

  1. Open the box that says “Step 1: Base”.

  2. Unpack the contents and plug the power cord into the Base. Then plug the power cord into the closest power outlet.

  3. Next, follow the install instructions in the web portal or application to connect to the internet and set-up your base via Wi-Fi or Ethernet.

  4. Once your Base powers on, it will begin to communicate with our security network. When you see the front LED light on your Base is solid green or flashing yellow, you can proceed to the next step.

If the front LED on your Base is not solid green or flashing yellow within 10 minutes, please contact Customer Support for additional assistance 877-464-7437.

Phone line connection

The primary connection to the central monitoring station for your base is broadband, followed by cellular as a secondary connection. You can also connect a phone line if available on the back of the unit for an additional layer of protection.

FAQs

How does my base connect to the central monitoring station?
Your base has four layers of protection. This includes broadband, cellular data, SMS, and through a phone line. If you have any issues with your network, your base will automatically fail over to cellular, SMS, or phone line to ensure your alarm gets through.

How long does the battery last for?
Once your base loses power, it will go into a low energy usage mode and can last for up to 24 hours on battery backup.

Is the battery replaceable?
Yes. The battery can be replaced by removing the bottom pad and opening the battery chamber. You can then replace the battery if needed.

My base is continuously beeping. What do I do?
If your base is beeping regularly, then you have troubled sounds enabled and there is an issue with your network. Log in to your application to view what device has a low battery or is lost and the beep will go away.

Why does my base blink yellow?
When a sensor is open, your system is not ready to arm. The base will blink yellow in this state until your sensor is closed or is no longer faulted.
