OVERVIEW
The Keychain Remote is an easy and secure way to arm and disarm your Security System. The simple and limited functionality of the Keychain Remote makes it perfect for children, people who don’t feel comfortable around technology, the elderly, home care workers, and even trusted overnight guests who aren’t familiar with your system. Each Keychain Remote on your system is assigned to a specific user, so you can track who comes and goes.
USING THE KEYCHAIN REMOTE
The Keychain Remote provided with your system may be pre-registered to your security system; in which case there are no set up steps required. Once your system is set up, you will be able to use your Keychain Remove immediately.
- To arm your system, press and hold STAY or AWAY.
- To disarm, press and hold CANCEL/OFF.
- To panic the system, press and hold STAY and AWAY at the same time for 2 seconds.
(Note: You must change the settings on your keychain remote to enable the panic function.)
HOW TO SETUP AND ADD THE KEYCHAIN REMOTE -- STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS
The Keychain Remote provided in the kit is ready to go and preprogrammed for the Master User. These steps are for programming ADDITIONAL Keychain Remotes for your system. If you have more than one Remote, you must create new User codes before those keychains can be added. The security system can support up to 8 Users (1 Master User, and 7 Normal Users).
For each additional Keychain Remote, you must first create a unique User/User code.
To Add New Users/User codes:
User codes can be easily added, changed or deleted from the system Console:
- Press MENU on Console
- Scroll to Security Setup and press SELECT
- Enter Master Code
- Scroll to Users and press SELECT
- Scroll to Add New and press SELECT
- The Keychain Remote defaults to “User 1”; use DELETE button to erase default and enter desired name using Console, press OK when complete
- When system prompts you to “Edit Code”, create a unique 4-digit arming code for this user, press OK
TIP: Must be different from the Master Code (all codes must be unique)
System will ask “Add?” and display the name of the new user, press OK
Once you have created the new users/user codes for each Keychain Remote, continue to the next steps to add Keychain Remotes to your system.
To Add Additional Keychain Remotes:
- Press MENU on Console
- Scroll to Security Setup and press SELECT
- Enter Master Code
- Scroll to Keychains and press SELECT
- Scroll to Add New and press SELECT
- Console will display “Preparing to Add” and begin 5-second countdown
- After countdown completes, press ALL THREE KEYCHAIN BUTTONS AT THE SAME TIME
- Console will say “Keychain Found and Added”. Press OK
- Choose user from list that you want to assign to the Keychain. Press SELECT
- Select to enable or disable panic button as desired for Keychain
