The Blue by ADT Wireless Outdoor Camera allows you to watch live video, record video and audio, or capture snapshots if motion is detected. New features, such as Facial Recognition and 2-way talk, gives alerts of known versus unknown faces as well as letting you talk to visitors. The Blue by ADT mobile application lets you to customize your camera’s motion and alert settings to cater to your needs and lifestyle. For example:
Place your camera near a door and create an alert to record video whenever the someone is at your door between 3-5 p.m. so you know your children arrived home safe and sound.
Add an alert to send a notification if anyone enters through the side door and take a photo so you can be sure that the dog walker arrived on time.
Keep an eye on your driveway or backyard and get notifications of any motion activity.

>Before you get started, make sure you have:
Wi-Fi network (SSID) and password
Wi-Fi and broadband internet connection with at least 2 Mbps upload speed
Phillips screwdriver or drill with Phillips driver bit (optional)
Power drill with drill bits for pilot holes (optional)
Note: Mounting using screws and anchors is optional and recommended if mounting on a solid surface.
Connecting camera to your wireless network
Your Blue Wireless Outdoor Camera will not ship fully charged. Charge your wireless outdoor camera battery using the included power cord. The battery can be detached from the wireless outdoor camera by pushing the button and sliding the battery up. The initial charge for the camera will take several hours.
NOTE: The wireless outdoor camera battery’s LED (which is visible when detached from the wireless outdoor camera) will turn green when fully charged.
In order to add your Blue by ADT Wireless Outdoor Camera, you will need to download the Blue by ADT app on your Android or iOS device. Find your device’s app by searching “Blue by ADT” in the iOS app store or Android Play store.
Launch the app on your Android or iOS device. On the dashboard, select the Menu icon in the top left-hand corner. Select Devices > + (Add) > Cameras > Outdoor Camera
Follow the in-app instructions for setup help, saving Wi-Fi, and configuring camera settings.
Battery pack charging
When your wireless outdoor camera battery is low, a notification will be sent to you. You can also check the wireless outdoor camera battery level by launching the Blue by ADT app. In the menu, select Devices. When viewing the device list, your wireless outdoor camera will display the battery status under your camera name.
When it is time to charge the wireless outdoor camera’s battery, detach the camera's battery pack and connect it to an active indoor outlet with the included power cord. The battery pack LED will display red while charging and turn green once fully charged. A full recharge of a completely drained battery pack may take approximately 5-6 hours.
In colder climates, the battery pack will not begin to recharge until it has reached room temperature. Please bring your battery pack indoors and allow it to reach room temperature before charging. If you connect the power cord to a cold battery pack, the charging LED may display green and not turn red until the battery has reached room temperature.”
Positioning the camera
Find a location where you know you will receive a good signal from either your home Wi-Fi network or the Blue by ADT Extender + Chime.
Separate the mounting plate from the bottom of the mounting stand on the bottom of the camera by twisting 45 degrees counterclockwise.
Use the provided mounting template and a drill with a ¼-inch drill bit to make pilot holes for the anchors and screws.
Secure the mounting plate using the proved screws and anchors Note: It is recommended to use anchors especially if mounting on brick or stucco.
If you wish to adjust the tightness of the joint connecting the camera to the stand, use a 7/32-inch Allen wrench in the bottom of the mounting stand.
Secure the camera back to the mounting plate by securing the stand in the plate and twisting 45 degrees clockwise.
Configuring advanced camera motion detection
Blue by ADT cameras provide you with advanced motion detection based on a motion zone you set and the sensitivity settings you choose. When motion is detected, the camera will record that event so you can see it in its entirety. To customize your wireless outdoor camera motion settings:
Go to Menu Icon > Devices > Select Camera Name > Motion Settings
You have the option to customize by:
Sensitivity
Time frame—by day of the week and by hour
Arm state
Select the users to be notified for the motion detection event
Users can manage their own notification methods. The Master User, and any Admin user can customize which user/s will be notified.
Changing the name of a camera
To change the settings of your wireless outdoor camera, log into the Web portal, iOS app, Android app, or Touchpad (if included) and go to Menu Icon > Devices. Under “Cameras,” select the specific camera name to edit the name and camera settings.

Your wireless outdoor camera supports on-device storage using a Class 10 or better SD card with minimum storage of 16GB and maximum storage of 128GB. SD card storage will allow your camera to save recorded media in the event of an Internet disconnection.

Factory resetting the camera
While powered on, press and hold the weather-proof rubber button on the camera’s side for 10 seconds. If the button is removed, you can use a pin to reset it.
A factory reset will place your camera back in a QR scan mode.
