OVERVIEW

The Base provides the primary means of communicating with the monitoring center. It has a 100 dB alarm that sounds while simultaneously contacting the monitoring center during an emergency. If the Base becomes damaged during a break in, the security system can utilize the Keypad / Console or Grid Extender to send out a distress signal (if there is a phone line or the Cellular Gateway in place), providing protections and security no matter what.

HOW TO SET UP THE BASE BSC1000 – STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS

Before you set up your Base BSC1000, you’ll need to decide where you want to place it in your home. This is the only component that needs to be connected to the Internet via a standard Ethernet cable.
  • Remove the battery cover
  • Insert the battery (BSC1000), then replace the table stand by sliding it back on the main body of the Base
  • Plug the power adapter into the back of the Base. Then plug the other end of the power adapter into a wall outlet or a power strip
  • Connect the Ethernet Cable to any available port on your router (or modem/router combo) and the back of the Base
Adding a Phone Line
  • A standard phone line is not required, but if you have one, it can act as a backup form of communication in case your Internet service goes down. This is an OPTIONAL step.
If you have a phone line, connect one end to the Base and the other end to the wall phone jack.

TURNING ON OR OFF CHIMES, EXIT DELAY, ENTRY DELAY ON THE BASE

The Base BSC1001 can make a chiming sound when the alarm is not armed and door/window sensors are triggered. You can set an Entry Delay to give you a few moments to disarm your security system every time you enter your home. The Entry Delay Beep or Tone is a beeping sound that reminds you to disarm your system immediately or the alarm will sound. The security system has an Exit Delay beep. When you are leaving your home, after arming your system, it will sound a repeated beep to remind you to leave immediately. As soon as you exit and close the door, the Exit Delay beep will stop sounding, indicating that your system is armed. You can set the Exit Delay beep for both the Stay and Away system arm settings. If you prefer not to hear an Exit Delay Beep, you can mute it in the settings using Blue by ADT.

Adjust the Chime, Exit Delay, or Entry Delay on the Base using Blue by ADT Web or apps:
  • Log in to Blue by ADT or launch your Blue by ADT app.
  • Once logged in, click on “Settings” tab in the navigation bar
  • Underneath the "Setting" tab, click on "Devices"
  • Under the column "Devices", click on the Base:
  • To enable chime exit or entry sound: Under the words “Chime Enabled” select ON button so it turns blue.
  • To disable chime exit or entry sound: Under the words “Chime Enabled” select OFF button so it turns blue.
  • Select “Save”
Note: At least one device (Base or Console) must have the entry and edit delay tones turned on, settings may show as disabled if that tone is already turned off on your console.
